Africa & Beyond

In Scripture, we see that the Lord often reveals Himself to His people according to the season they are walking through.

When Abraham was traveling into the unknown, heading to a place he didn’t yet understand, the Lord appeared to him as a traveler resting under the trees of Mamre (Genesis 18:1–5). Abraham was on a journey, and the Lord met him there.

Years later, as Joshua prepared to lead Israel into battle and take possession of the land God had promised them, the Lord appeared again. This time, He came as the Captain of the Lord’s Host, a Man of War standing ready with sword drawn (Joshua 5:13–15).

In both moments, the Lord revealed Himself in a way that addressed the need of the situation. What you needed yesterday might not be what you need today, but Jesus will be there just as you need Him.

Anna’s House Dedication

On March 19, we will dedicate Anna’s House in Gatumba, Burundi. Local leaders, church members, and Hope Center volunteers will join us to celebrate what God has done.

The vision for Anna’s House has been in our hearts for many years, but construction only started just over two years ago. The project became possible thanks to the generosity of ministry partners who responded when we shared the vision to serve the elderly in a place where few services are available.

Anna’s House will function as a daytime center for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Those who attend will be able to shower, wash their clothes, receive prayer, and enjoy fellowship and activities together. As funding permits, we also hope to provide basic medical care and other necessities.

Many of the elderly who will attend Anna’s House are already receiving meals through the Hope Center feeding program. Currently, we serve 50 elderly and disabled individuals there, and Anna’s House will allow us to care for them in even more meaningful ways. This outreach is the first of its kind in Burundi. What an honor it is for us to see it come to pass.

The entire ministry, including Hope Center, New Hope Academy, and Anna’s House, is spiritually overseen by our team and local pastoral leaders from the church in Bujumbura. At the dedication, we will share briefly, honor local authorities, and give thanks to God for His provision. Afterwards, we will send a special update with photos and videos from the event.

Most, if not all, of the elderly who will be coming to Anna’s House are already receiving meals through the Hope Center’s feeding program in Gatumba. This new center will allow us to care for them in even more meaningful ways.
Many of the elderly served through the Hope Center and Anna’s House live in these temporary shelters across the street from the Hope Center.

Pretoria Church Update

As we mentioned last month, the church in Pretoria needs a new facility, and we are currently negotiating for a new meeting space in an ideal location.

The building managers have expressed a strong interest in hosting the church there. Nothing has been finalized yet, but the conversations have been very positive. If everything goes as we hope, we might be able to move into the new space by Easter Sunday.

Malawi Farm and Well

The funds for the well project in Malawi have been transferred, and digging has begun. Rain has delayed progress a bit, but we expect the well to be finished by April. Once complete, the well will supply water for the farm’s crops. The harvest will help fund future planting seasons and support our schools in the country.

Grateful

As we continue forward in these different areas of ministry, we are reminded again that the Lord meets us exactly where we are. Whether we are traveling into unknown places like Abraham or facing new challenges like Joshua, He is always present and ready to lead.

We are grateful to each of you who stands with us in this work. Thank you for your continued partnership in prayer and support.
