From August 5-9, we partnered with Hand of Hope to host a free community clinic in Lilongwe, Malawi. This is our second year partnering with Hand of Hope to hold a free clinic in Malawi. In total, 7,674 patients were seen and 4,963 people gave their hearts to Jesus. We are doing our best to work with other church leaders to follow up on the new believers from the outreach. Some may ask why hold such a short clinic, won’t people get sick again? Yes, they will likely face more challenges. But at that moment, we were able to bring much-needed relief and show the love of Jesus to the community. This is priceless.
Announcing: Anna’s House in Gatumba, Burundi
Our existing Hope Center in Gatumba, Burundi reaches out to the most vulnerable in the area. 500 children (many are orphans), widows, elderly, and handicapped come to the center daily to receive food and ministry. In Burundi, few outreaches are ministering to the needs of the elderly and handicapped. They often fall through the cracks of outreach. This is why we receive them at the Hope Center for help. However, there is more that can be done. Since opening in Gatumba, we have desired to bring them more help. God has blessed and we’re now in the process of purchasing a property that has become available next to the existing center.
This new arm of our outreach will be called, “Anna’s House.” At Anna’s House, the elderly and handicapped will spend their days receiving spiritual, emotional, and medical care. The outreach will provide facilities for bathing, washing clothes, meals, and activities. In the future, it may become a full-time home for those who have no family to care for them.
The purchase of the property is a process and will take another month or two to complete. In the meantime, we are working on organizing a budget and obtaining all necessary authorizations to operate. We are grateful to have a good relationship with the local authorities who are very excited about this new development.
Our hearts are full of gratitude for God’s continuing provision for the vision to see churches planted and lives changed.
