Why plant churches?
We are dedicated to making a lasting impact on the continent of Africa at a grass-roots level. One of our major focuses is church planting and leadership training. We work to plant self-supporting, healthy local churches that serve as the heart of their communities. In addition, through these local churches, we initiate transformative, faith-based community outreaches.
Church Planting
Our main focus is to establish healthy, self-supporting local churches that reach out to their surrounding communities with faith-based activities. We have established works in:
- Burundi
- Zambia
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Malawi
- Mozambique
- Uganda
We work in partnership with other local churches to see churches planted. This collaboration strengthens the church at large as well as ensures a sustainable influence across the continent.
Leadership Training
A significant challenge we’ve encountered is inadequate training for local leadership. We have implemented in-house, ongoing training programs for all our local churches to address this. In addition to this, since 2021, we have conducted Leadership Academy training modules to provide further training for local leaders of our, and other, local churches in:
- Burundi
- Malawi
- Liberia
We are currently focused on expanding our Leadership Academy. While live teaching is valuable, it has limitations due to travel constraints. To overcome this, we are developing online courses to facilitate leadership growth. These courses will be accessible by 2025, providing quality training for those who otherwise would not be able to access the training.
Education
Education is a cornerstone of our mission approach. In developing Africa, education is the key to rising out of poverty. Combining education with the Gospel creates a powerful force for securing children’s future. We currently operate four schools in two countries:
Malawi
- Preschool: 65 students at the Hope Center feeding site in Lilongwe.
- Primary School: 80 students at the main church campus in Lilongwe.
- Primary School: 50 students in Blantyre.
Burundi
- Preschool: 180 students at the Hope Center feeding site in Gatumba, Burundi.
Feeding Programs
Our feeding programs provide essential nutrition to vulnerable populations, ensuring that children, widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities receive the support they need.
Malawi
Established in November 2007, the Hope Center in Lilongwe feeds 100 vulnerable children from Monday to Friday. The center also includes a preschool, microfinance cooperatives, and tailoring school, and serves as a meeting place for the church on weekends.
Connect with us as we continue with our mission. Your support can help us bring hope and transformation to the hopeless.
Burundi
Established in February 2021, the Hope Center in Bujumbura feeds 500 children, widows, elderly, and disabled individuals. The center doubles as a meeting place for the church and hosts all feeding activities.
Vocational Training, Tailoring and Information Technology (IT)
Malawi
In response to high levels of unemployment, we have initiated a tailoring project in Malawi. The outreach has successfully graduated 50 students. This skill provides them with an opportunity to earn an income and begin the journey out of poverty.
Malawi
In early 2024, the ministry was given funds to purchase an 11-acre farm. It has brought in one harvest so far. The proceeds help offset costs for operating our feeding center and school.
Burundi
We are in the process of launching a vocational training initiative in Burundi, teaching Information Technology to mostly unemployed young people.
