What We Do
Church

Why plant churches?

We are committed to making a lasting difference in communities across Africa, beginning at the grassroots level. Church planting and leadership training are central to Christian missions in Africa. Our goal is to establish healthy, self-supporting local churches that become the heart of their communities. Through these churches, we develop practical outreaches that meet needs, strengthen families, and serve communities.

“God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”
- Hudson Taylor

Church Planting

Our focus is to establish healthy, self-supporting local churches that share the Gospel and serve their surrounding communities. We currently have established churches and ministries in seven African countries:

  • Burundi
  • Zambia
  • Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Malawi
  • Mozambique
  • Uganda
  • South Africa

We also partner with existing local churches to plant new churches. These partnerships strengthen the wider Church, encourage collaboration, and help establish a lasting presence in communities across Africa.

Leadership Training

One of the challenges we have encountered is the need for ongoing training and development of local church leaders. To address this, we provide in-house leadership training within our established churches.

Since 2021, we have also conducted Leadership Academy training modules, equipping leaders from both Africa & Beyond churches and other local churches in:

  • Burundi
  • Malawi
  • Liberia

We are working to expand our Leadership Academy to reach more leaders across Africa. While in-person training remains an important part of our work, travel and distance can limit opportunities for participation. We are developing additional training opportunities through internet radio, podcasts, and other online resources, making biblical teaching and practical leadership development more accessible to local church leaders.

Education

Education is an important part of our mission approach. We believe education is a key that opens the door out of poverty, creating opportunities for children and their futures. When combined with the Gospel, education provides a strong foundation for both their present lives and the years ahead. We currently operate four schools in two countries:

Malawi

  • Preschool: 65 students at the Hope Center feeding site in Lilongwe.
  • Primary School: 80 students at the main church campus in Lilongwe.
  • Primary School: 50 students in Blantyre.

Burundi

  • Preschool: 147 students at the Hope Center feeding site in Gatumba, Burundi.

Feeding Programs

Our feeding programs provide nutritious meals to children, widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities who face food insecurity. Through these programs, we not only meet an immediate need but also demonstrate the love of Christ through practical care and compassion.

Malawi

Established in November 2007, the Hope Center in Lilongwe, Malawi, provides nutritious meals to 100 children, Monday through Friday. Beyond the feeding program, the center is home to a preschool, microfinance cooperatives, and a tailoring school. On weekends, it also serves as a gathering place for the local church.

Connect with us as we continue with our mission. Your support can help us bring hope and transformation to the hopeless.

Burundi

Established in February 2021, the Hope Center in Gatumba, Burundi, provides nutritious meals to 500 people, including children, widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The center also serves as a gathering place for the local church. As additional needs within the community became apparent, two more outreaches were established: New Hope Academy, providing education for children, and Anna’s House, offering practical care and companionship for the elderly and people with disabilities.

Anna's House

Born out of the needs identified through our Hope Center in Gatumba, Burundi, Anna's House provides a welcoming day center for elderly people and those living with disabilities. Through bathing and laundry facilities, additional meals, companionship, prayer, and medical assistance when needed, we seek to restore dignity and provide practical care for some of the community's most vulnerable members.

Our April 2026 video report includes a special feature on Anna's House toward the end of the presentation. We invite you to watch and see how this ministry is making a difference.

Vocational Training & Sustainable Development

Tailoring

In response to high unemployment, we established a tailoring project in Malawi that has successfully graduated 50 students. The skills they acquire provide opportunities to earn an income and take meaningful steps toward overcoming poverty.

Farming

In early 2024, we received funding to purchase an 11-acre farm in Malawi. The farm’s harvests help offset operating costs for our feeding center and school, contributing toward the long-term sustainability of these outreaches.

Our Vision

We envision developing sustainable, income-generating initiatives that help support our feeding programs across Africa. Our desire is to strengthen these outreaches, reduce dependence on outside support, and help local communities become active participants in sustaining the work.
